My Local History then creates a complete proof video or audio story, including narration and visuals where applicable. Rather than reviewing a script in isolation, you review the full production as it will be experienced by the public.

After review, any factual corrections or adjustments are incorporated, and the final version is delivered for public use. QR codes and optional distribution materials are provided as part of the completed production.

No. In most cses, what you aready have on-hand is enough to produce a video. Think of My Local History as a new way to share existing information. People do not always want to read about history and our productions tell stories with very little effort.

My Local History productions are delivered in standard web-based formats that work across modern smartphones, tablets, and desktop computers. By default, videos include auto-generated captions to support accessibility.

For English-language productions, professional stenographer captions powered by Rev.com are available upon request for organizations that prefer human-reviewed captioning. Audio stories may also be paired with written text when appropriate.

Braille add-ons for physical signage are available upon request.

While we offer these accessibility options, My Local History does not guarantee compliance with ADA or other accessibility standards. Organizations remain responsible for ensuring that the overall implementation aligns with their specific accessibility policies and requirements.

My Local History delivers a complete, fully produced proof video or audio story. We do not provide script-only drafts. Instead, you review the full experience exactly as it will be presented to the public.

During the proofing stage, your organization may request changes of any kind. This includes script rewrites, tone adjustments, narration changes, image swaps, additions or removals of content, or even a full rework of the production if needed.

Our goal is simple: the final version should accurately reflect your history and meet your expectations before it is published.

Once revisions are complete and the final version is approved, the production is considered complete.

One round of revisions are included with every production. Additional revisions are available for $75 if needed.

Most organizations spend their time gathering and submitting the historical information they would like included, but we do not need a lot of information since the productions are under 2 minutes. Once that material is provided, My Local History handles the writing, narration, editing, and full production.

Your team’s primary involvement comes during the proofing stage, where you review the completed production and request any desired adjustments. Beyond that, there are no ongoing staffing requirements related to the productions themselves.

No. Signage is completely optional.

While QR-enabled signs are a popular way to connect stories to physical locations, videos and audio productions can be shared in many other ways. Organizations often use kiosks, tablets, museum displays, websites, social media, digital maps, brochures, or visitor center screens to share their stories.

Signage is simply one delivery method. The storytelling itself can live anywhere you choose to share it.

My Local History processes sign production on a monthly schedule. Production runs take place on the first Monday of each month, and all signs approved by the 25th of the prior month are included in that run.

After production begins, we typically receive the completed signs from our supplier within approximately two weeks for quality assurance. Once approved, they are packaged and shipped to your organization.

In most cases, signs are delivered within 30 to 60 days of ordering, depending on when final approval is received relative to the monthly production schedule.

Our standard aluminum signs typically range from 4×4 inches to 10×10 inches, depending on the application and visibility needs.

For larger installations, we can produce aluminum signage up to 36×36 inches. Size selection is based on placement, readability, mounting method, and overall design goals.

Yes. Aluminum signs and window clings are guaranteed for 12 months and include a one-time replacement for any workmanship defects.

This guarantee covers manufacturing or material issues under normal use. It does not cover vandalism, misuse, improper installation, or damage caused by environmental conditions beyond typical exposure.

We include shortened URLs, video hosting management, and QR code redirects at no cost for the first year for all new clients.

After the first year, hosting is a flat $149 per year. This covers all of your productions, QR codes, and shortened URLs under one account. It is not a per-video fee.

If you prefer not to use our hosting, you are welcome to upload your videos to any platform you choose and create your own QR codes and links. Your productions are yours to keep, use, and share without any obligation to continue our hosting or redirect services.

Yes. In addition to online hosting, links, and QR codes, we provide the final video file in standard MP4 format.

This allows you to upload the video to most kiosks, use it in exhibits, play it in visitor centers, or post directly to social media and your website.

We recommend confirming compatibility with your kiosk or technology provider, but we do not place any restrictions on how you use your video within your organization.
