Bring The History ofStreet SignsDedicated ParksHistoric BuildingsLandmarksAttractionsTo Life

The mission of My Local History is simple: to preserve and share local history through short, interactive videos placed in the real world.

As time passes, stories are forgotten, and photos fade. Street names lose their meaning, and the significance of buildings or landmarks slips away. My Local History helps keep those memories alive. By scanning QR codes placed at historic sites or commemorative locations, residents, visitors, and tourists can instantly watch short videos that tell the story behind the place - bringing local history back to life, one site at a time.

How it works

01

Establish Locations

The sponsoring organization (municipality, county, historic board, etc) selects the locations to be included in the first round of productions. There’s no minimum—start with just one, or plan a larger rollout. Pricing is transparent, with volume discounts available at 10, 20, and 30 locations. Best of all, those volume discounts stay active for three years from your initial production, so you don’t have to commit to everything at once to save.

02

Gather Your Materials

The sponsoring organization collects all available information about the location or individual being honored. This can include photos, written histories, video clips, newspaper articles, and more. While not everything may make it into the final video, having a variety of materials helps us create a stronger, more engaging story. We’ll also supplement with public domain images and research additional information whenever available to enhance the production.

03

We Handle the Production

Once we receive your materials, we take it from there. Our team writes a custom script and uses generative voiceover to tell the story, complete with background music, editing, and full video production. Each final video runs approximately 60–90 seconds - short enough to hold attention, but long enough to capture the story in a meaningful way.

04

Delivery & Share

After the video is approved, we provide everything you need to bring it to life in the real world. This includes optional video hosting, a shortened URL, and a custom QR code that can be added to signs, plaques, or other displays.

We can also create a custom Google My Map that plots all the locations featured in your video series—perfect for walking tours or historical trails. As an optional add-on, we offer printed stickers and durable metal signs that can be affixed on-site to make the history easy to access.
